Onsday 18th Apryyl, Year 1456 (continued)
Climbing down the hole, the Godsends found a tunnel leading into a series of natural caves. At the bottom, they found Karreska Redhand, the brains behind Smigmal.
A hard battle was fought, but in the end, the orc druid died just as well as the other orcs.
The Godsends then proceeded to drag/carry Smigmal all through the night and all the way back to the portal, avoiding being seen by orc patrols and the like. Once through the portal, it was "locked", and the heroes could finally rest.
Torsday 19th Apryyl, Year 1456
The next morning, Smigmal was awake, and the interrogation began. Unfortunately, it began without any discussion amongst the Godsends, which lead to some misunderstandings on what their plan was, and just how far they were willing to go in order to get the information that they wanted. All this, and some hot tempers, resulted in a little infight amongst the Godsends. Rolen thought Grum was going to let Smigmal go, so Rolen tried to kill her. Grum, who was bluffing, tried to stop Rolen by hitting him on the head, with his axe. Then both Argii and Grubko joined the "fun" as well, trying to stop Rolen/the fight. Then, after Rolen put down his weapons, Grum still figured it would be wise to hit him once more. Just for fun... or something.
It was a divided group that decided to bring Smigmal back to Drahar before there would be any more questioning.
Lordday 21st Apryyl, Year 1456
Once in Drahar, they quickly contacted Vengus and turned over Smigmal to the Church of Erathis, telling what information they had found beyond the portal.
Mansday 23rd Apryyl, Year 1456
After a couple of days, it became clear that Smigmal was not about to spill any beans, no matter what was done to her. The Godsends decided to contact the Ragar family, and see what they could find inside the palace. Their contact was Carlos, the younger brother to Koraz, head of the Ragar family.
Days and days of searching by normal and magical means, turned up a secret door to the sewers that the family did not know of.
The Godsends have several theories at this point. One is that the orcs are seeking access to find something, perhaps a book (in the library?) which tells of the location of the Temple of Elemental Evil. Another is that the temple is located somewhere beneath the Ragar Palace, and it is direct access to the Temple that the orcs are seeking.
Lordday 5th Mey, Year 1456
One day, the Godsends are contacted by Carlos. He wants them to head south, near the Haunted Forest, where the Ragar family has some holdings. Their Quartermaster's son has been kidnapped. Also, Elias not his son, but the illegitimate son of Koraz. They want the matter handled with discretion.
Mansday 7th Mey, Year 1456
Heading south (with the Quartermaster, who had come asking for help to find his son), they find that a ransom note has been delivered, while they were traveling. "Pay 10.000 gold or Elias dies". Using magic, Argii finds out who has written the note, and after traveling into the village nearby, they apprehend him and question him, finding out that the cult that kidnapped Elias has its HQ a couple of hours south, into the forest.
Not waiting around for reinforcements, the Godsends head to the HQ and enter...
