The Swords listened for a while, learning that the Fomorian apparently had a "master" whom he had to inform of Skalmad's failure. From the discussion it also seemed that Zeke was a prisoner, but the Swords were not convinced.
After a while of listening and debating on whether to attack or hide, Gnoguh made the decision for them all, as he charged in.
As it turned out, the Fomorian and the Cyclops were not alone. There was a vampire Drow laying in one of the couches, sipping some wine.
After a hard-fought battle, the Swords managed to gain the upper hand and dispatch the 3 evil creatures.
After a short rest and an interrogation of Zeke (see Zeke's story), they decided to press on, as Skalmad should be near, and there was no way to know what would happen if they waited any longer.
Further into the Iron Fortress, they found the lair of Skalmad. But he had definitely changed. He was now a shadow creature, possessed by the spirit of Vard, First Troll King of Vardar. His Cyclops servants were fairly quickly killed, but the King himself proved to be a mouthful. Carric was seconds from meeting Kord face to face, and Gnoguh was brought from full health to dying by two lucky hits in rapid succession from the King (<3 action points), but, as always, the heroes prevailed.
They destroyed the Cauldron by throwing the Evil Eye in it, but still had the Arcanite Reaper as well as a lot of money and other trinkets left.
