40th Session

The Swords left for the mine. Outside the mine, they inspected the body of the mutated miner, and then headed in. Inside the mine, they inspected the top level, finding nothing but a miner who had been buried beneath a rock slide.

In order to descend to the lower level, they had to take an elevator 200 feet down. Going down, suddenly Gnoguh heard a deep voice saying in Deep Speech: "Cut the rope". Gnoguh managed to jump and catch on the wall, just as the rope was cut and the elevator plummeted 80 feet to the ground below. There Truxas and Carric were attacked by several aberrant creatures as well as some mutated miners (?). As the fight progressed, Gnoguh was climbing down to help them. Unfortunately, he missteped and fell down, landing on top of Carric. They still won and killed the aberrations. Exploring further, they found a cavern room with a huge hole leading down to the Underdark (?). They decided to investigate that later, and proceeded further down into the mine. At the bottom of the mine, they discovered a rift which siphons out energy from the Far Realm (?). There was however quite a few mindflayers and some mutated miners. After a long and hard battle where a dominated Gnoguh almost got Truxas, the Swords finally got the better of the aberrations.

After the fight, they decided to teleport back to the Church of Kord and rest there for the night, possibly picking up a few friends to find out more about the rift.
