600 - Using an ancient artifact called the Globe of Night, the Sons of Winter create an area of permanent dusk. As we have learned later, they thought they were going cover the world in ice and snow, but they were mislead and tricked by an alliance of ancient vampires. Instead, they covered a substantial area surrounding the now ruined town of Fallcrest with a magical dusk, allowing the creatures of the night and darkness to be out during the day, without any discomfort.
The Darkness covered an area of more than 10.000 square miles, and soon those who didn't flee were subjugated by the vampire lords called themselves the Dark Trio, and terror reigned.
712 to 746 - The Dragonborn Arul Matuk arrive along with his small army and his 12 adamantine dragons from the continent previously holding the Auran Empire. Determined to resurrect the glory of Arkhosia, he systematically conquers every city, town, village and hamlet south and west of the Wrath of Gods.
Along with the arrival of the refugees from the Auran Empire, the worship of the old gods strengthen and increase. More and more, the worship of the Primal Spirits which has been pervasive in the region, becomes something done in the small rural communities.
748 - Arul Matuk dies, and his grandson Kabul Matuk takes charge of the empire at the tender age of 14 under the stewardship of his grandmother.
752 - Now of age, Kabul turns his eye towards the east, towards the lands on the other side of the Wrath of the Gods.
752 to 777 - It took a while, but eventually both the Free Lands and the wild east fell to the armies of Matuk, and in the year 777, Kabul Matuk could call himself emperor of all of the continent of Draegor. Except for the area around Fallcrest, which was still covered in the magical dusk made by the Globe of Night.
823 - Rebuilding and repopulating of Drahar starts.
987 - A group of intrepid adventures enter the Dusklands and manage to destroy the Globe of Night, thus returning the sun to the area. The creatures of the night flee underground, but not before massacring most living beings in the area. Since then, the area has been somewhat populated, but Fallcrest and Laketown are still considered cursed places and no one lives or comes within miles of the two ruins.
1075 - The West-East divide of power. The Emperor sits in Maruk. And while still emperor of all of Draegor, the next in line for the throne (usually a son, brother or nephew) runs the eastern part from Dragonhall, paying tribute to the Emperor..
1333 to 1337 - Revolution. Empire of Matuk is split in two.The Eastern Empire, lead by Karim Matuk, nephew of Arim Matuk, the emperor, declares the east to be independent and calls it the Red Empire. Tiamat becomes the state religion in the east. 4 years of battles follow, with neither side able to get the upper hand. In the end, a peace is brokered, and Draegor now houses two empires.
1456 - Current year
